1825 Timber Frame House Needs "New Home"

Located along the historic Route 113 corridor in Harleysville, the Shirk House is an early 19th century oak timber frame house that desperately needs to be moved to another location.  Although the house is still standing, a development is slated for this site by mid-November.
The Shirk House layout is based on the Quaker plan and retains many of its original features such as random width pine floors, open beams, winder staircase, grain painted six-panel doors, Norfolk latches and chair rails to name a few.  Since it is a timber frame house, it can be dismantled and moved to a "new home".  The sellers will photograph, videotape and document the building and assist in the rebuilding of the house.
Interested buyers can contact Carl Clauss at 215-721-0567 or e-mail him at carloclauss@msn.com.
